Some words of explanation

The Masonic Order is a bearer of promises. The Masonic Lodge is a hope. In its fullness, it prepares man, by way of Initiation, to take responsibility of his future.

Freemasons are builders, hence the necessary of apprenticeship and self discovery.

Freemasonry testifies that we can live one's life in a healthy and beneficial activity and this, by an altruism free from its fetters.

The Lodge urges each member to search for himself. The free man is the product of the work he has accomplished. The Freemason must therefore conquer his passions and die to himself in order to be reborn as an Initiate.

The Application to enter a Masonic Order is the indication of a quest and an undertaking. For the profane, the desire to go beyond himself means another vision of his duties, firstly with the concept of the Divine, then with humanity and finally towards himself.

This birth is a new life, is the renewed doubt surrounding the Being. This is the key to Initiation.

One does not enter Freemasonry as one would enter a religion - and this must be understood.

The Masonic undertaking constitutes nothing but the search for a personal harmony, instilled initially by the omnipresent harmony of the Lodge to which one is affiliated.

This conscience is acquired progressively - firstly by the practice of Rituals, but equally by an assembly of Work.

The study of symbolism in particular, permit the definition of the place occupied by Man among the other Kingdoms of Mineral, Vegetable and Animal, in order to end up in the search for justification in the eyes of the Universe. That is to say, "That which proceeds towards Unity."

Besides, if it is established that Freemasonry has brought much to Humanity, it is worth remembering here that, as a victim of intolerance, it payed a heavy price for this contribution.
